ADVENTURES > MIRRE`S DIARY > WEEK 3

Monday February 20th 2006.
Took Mirre back to the vet this afternoon. Douwe is still on holiday so we had someone else again. The assistant was the same though and she couldn't believe her eyes. She thought Mirre had grown a lot. So she put on the scale: 1950 grams!!!!
So she did not only regain the lost weight, but she did grow indeed. Harry checked her over and found her so well that she received her second vaccination. If things keep going this well, she won't have to come back until next year. Together we have high hopes. Payed the bill too, that had addad up to a nice amount. Luckily everyone is healthy and provided with the right food. Took an additional two cans for Mirre, just to be sure. She is eating well now, but she still won't eat the kibble as it is.
Phoned Stef as soon as we were home with the good news. Mirre is about the same weight as the rest of the litter. Unfortunately there was bad news about her chocolate sister, she died. So sad.

Tuesday February 21rst 2006.
Robbyn is becoming more trusting towards Mirre. He washed her on a regular basis, but seemed to get scared every time. This afternoon he was washing her with passion and then he put his head on or against her body to take a nap.

Robbyn is becoming more trusting towards Mirre. He washed her on a regular basis, but seemed to get scared every time. This afternoon he was washing her with passion and then he put his head on or against her body to take a nap. Since last week Mirre washes who ever washes her back. She started with Djavi, but now she washes Zohra and Robbyn too. Even Yottum was lucky enough for to receive a mini wash. Thia is the only one who's still grumpy. As soon as Mirre gets close enough, she slaps her with a loud meow. That's nothing new, she does that to everyone. But if Mirre crawls up to her bottom for warmth, you won't hear Thia.
At night all the Burmese were tangled up on my lap. Somewhere on the side Thia lays buried. On the one hand she is bothered by that. But all that warmth, that's so delicious, that she only protests half heartedly. Only when she's about to "drown", she climbs out complaining and sits on my shoulder.

Thursday February 23rd 2006.
Went to Grad this morning, on my way to town. He wasn't home, so I drove on and bought a new cell phone. On my way back I looked, but Grad still wasn't home. Went to visit mum. She was downstairs to my surprise.
I printed out the first two chapters of the book she's writing. Now she can look them over and correct them if need be. Went home after that.
Sat on the couch and guess who came by? Right, it was Grad. He didn't stay long, as usual, but we had a nice talk.
Friday February 24 2006.
Measured up two of the pet carriers, need to make anti-draft covers for them. Went to the market to see if they had lined fabrics. Need some cord too, to make a cat angle. I was early, so I bought groceries first. After that I went to the market. Many stands were empty. There weren't any fabrics, bummer. Was able to buy cord. Must look next week to see if I can find fabrics.
