ADVENTURES > MIRRE`S DIARY > WEEK 4

Saturday February 25th 2006.
Checked my e-mail this afternoon. There was one from Natasja. She tipped me to try Royal Canin Oral Sensitive. She has good results with that.
So on my way home I stopped by the pet store. Bought a small bag of Oral Sensitive and a new bottle of Bitterbite. For the past two weeks Djavi is been working very hard to destroy my stuffed animals.
If I catch him in the act and give him a roasting, he's ever so sorry and sweet. He will always try to make amends: gently flopping on your lap and try to wash your nose. As to say: so sorry, I just can't help myself. Oh... he is a very sweet boy and that's a good thing. Otherwise one day I just might cheerfully murder him!

Sunday February 26th 2006.
Today is my last day off, tomorrow I will have to go back to work. Mirre has teary eyes again, so I started her homeopathic medicine again. Her resistance is far from good. She really doesn't like me pushing those pills don her throat. Of course they're big, rough and hard. In spite of her protesting it goes down rather fast. Then we cuddle firmly for a moment and all is well again.

Monday February 27th 2006.
This morning Mirre followed me as fast as she could, all the way to the front door. She didn't like it that I was about to leave. Hopefully she was able to entertain herself, for I wasn't home until half past six.
All Burmese were screaming that they were hungry, even Zohra joined in. Gave Mirre some meds again after dinner and then let her play. She likes to wrestle with Robbyn and they ended it by playing tags. If Robbyn has had enough he jumps on top of one of the cupboards. Mirre sat by the radiator for a while and than climbed on my lap.

Wednesday March 1rst 2006.
This morning Mirre ate her kibble dry for the first time and voluntary! She ate the Oral Sensitive quite well. She had already eaten in well, but always in combination with can food.
At dinnertime she ate it with can food and to my surprise she ate them dry at bedtime. Would she be over the deadlock? I was under the impression that her eyes aren't tearing anymore and that she stooped sneezing as well.
The meds seem to work just fine. Now we have to keep it that way. Have to see if I can get granules tomorrow instead of pills. They are easier to swallow.

Thursday March 2nd 2006.

This morning after some encouragement Mirre ate some more dry kibble. I'm getting my hopes up. Went to the pharmacist to ask for the granules. It appears that they no longer exist. Even the ones that are given to children have been replaced by tablets.
Back home I opened the window. The cats were eager to get out. The sun was shining, there was hardly any wind and it wasn't cold either. I put a chair under the window for Mirre. So she can get in and out easier. At first she was scared and stayed inside on the windowsill. After a while she found the courage to explore the garden. She happily ran around with the boys and was bombed out by the fact that they sometimes went to sit on high places. But she was also perfectly able to entertain herself.
